King Propulsion attended the Annapolis Spring Sailboat show for the second time and it did not disappoint! While different from it’s big brother – the fall show, the new sibling was fun this year in the gorgeous Annapolis weather. The three-day spring show represented a wide range of boats and promoted a festival-like atmosphere that brought attendees in large numbers to the fifth-annual Annapolis Spring Sailboat Show, April 22-24, 2016 from Coast to Coast and far beyond.
The show saw a substantial 20% increase in attendance of the fifth outing for this show with Sailboats and gear to entice sailors and a schedule of events designed to bring new and returning sailors into the fold, teach future cruisers and give them confidence to head out, and provide continuous entertainment proved to be a winning formula. With nearly 200 people participating in the ‘First Sail’ Workshops and 120 new cruisers attending the ‘Cruiser’s University’ for four days of classes the show was a buzz.
In addition, a nice mix of new and brokerage monohulls, catamarans, day sailors, inflatables, charter boats and paddle boards, along with accessories and sailing gear of all sorts, made for a valuable buying opportunity for sailors in attendance. With mild weather, and an array of sparkling new Jeanneau and Fountaine Pajot models, to name a few of the boats on display, the spring Annapolis show has proven to be the perfect venue to kick off the new season.
As for our booth at Tent C12, we had a great time! It is always such a pleasure to get out of the office, away from the workshop and chat about types of sailboat propellers and matching the style of sailing we see described on the stand to the great propellers we have. It is not one shoe fits all and visitors to the stand took interest in finding this out! We had our Autoprop propellers on the stand for the first time and people were able to see the true scope and capability of the Bruntons range.
